However, it's important to note that during the peak of the dry season (July-August), temperatures in Ranupani can drop drastically to freezing point (0 degrees Celsius or even below).

The phenomenon of "Embun Upas" or frost that covers the grass like snow often occurs during these months. This provides a rare sight but requires physical preparation and adequate warm clothing. Conversely, during the rainy season, the mist will be thicker, and the landscape turns a deep green, giving the impression of a humid tropical rainforest.

As part of a National Park, Ranupani Lake faces real environmental challenges, especially regarding sedimentation and the growth of invasive plants like Salvinia molesta. The Lumajang regional government, along with TNBTS and local communities, continues revitalization efforts through regular sediment dredging and aquatic weed removal.

Tourists are strictly prohibited from littering or polluting the lake water. The principle of Leave No Trace is strongly emphasized here. Environmental awareness from every visitor is essential to ensure that Ranupani's beauty can still be enjoyed by future generations.

To reach Ranupani Lake, the most common route is through Lumajang Regency via Senduro District. The journey from Lumajang city center takes about 1.5 to 2 hours. This route offers stunning views of pine forests and vegetable fields, although the road is winding and steep, so vehicle condition must be excellent.
