Reaching Tao Silalahi requires a land journey of about 4 to 5 hours from Medan City. The route generally taken is through Berastagi towards Kabanjahe, then continuing towards Sidikalang before descending into the Silalahi valley. Facilities in Tao Silalahi are continuously developing. Currently, there are many homestay-type accommodations managed by locals, ample parking areas, and a row of food stalls serving local culinary delights like Ikan Mas Arsik.
