2. Religious and Historical Tourism: At the summit of Mount Seminung, there is a sacred tomb often visited by local communities for pilgrimage. This adds a spiritual dimension to the climbing journey, where visitors are expected to maintain proper conduct and courtesy.

However, for those who want to experience the coffee harvest season on the mountain slopes, visiting in June or July is the right choice. The rural atmosphere at the foot of the mountain will feel very lively with the activities of coffee farmers.

Conservation and Environmental Protection

As part of the ecosystem supporting Danau Ranau, the preservation of Mount Seminung is strictly maintained by the OKU Selatan Regency Government along with the local indigenous communities. Bans on littering and cutting down trees in protected forest areas are strictly enforced.

Tourists are strongly encouraged to apply the Leave No Trace principle. Protection of the springs at the foot of the mountain is also a priority, as water from Mount Seminung flows directly into Danau Ranau and is the lifeline for thousands of fishermen and farmers in the surrounding areas.

Accessibility and Facilities

Reaching Mount Seminung requires a long but scenic overland journey. From the center of Palembang City, the journey to Muaradua (the capital of OKU Selatan) takes about 7-8 hours. From Muaradua, the journey continues towards the Danau Ranau area (Banding Agung or Kotabatu).

The facilities around the foot of the mountain are quite adequate to support tourist comfort:

• Hiking Basecamp: Available in Kotabatu Village with registration facilities, local guides, and temporary resting places.
• Accommodation: Around Danau Ranau, there are various accommodation options, ranging from local homestays to star hotels with direct mountain views.
• Water Transportation: To reach the foot of the mountain from the lake side, visitors can rent a motorboat or "ketek" from the Banding Agung pier to the foot of Mount Seminung on the opposite side, which provides an additional experience of a water tour.
