On a daily basis, the best time is from 3:30 PM until dusk. The gradually decreasing air temperature makes outdoor activities more comfortable. However, visitors are strictly prohibited from swimming in the sea. The characteristics of the southern coast with strong rip currents and deep underwater trenches make swimming extremely dangerous.

Conservation and Environmental Protection Efforts

As a popular destination, Parangtritis Beach faces significant environmental challenges, especially concerning plastic waste and the preservation of the sand dunes. The Bantul Regency government, along with local communities, has designated the sand dune area as a core geological conservation zone. The construction of permanent buildings in the dune area is restricted to ensure the sand's movement is not hindered.

Access to Parangtritis Beach is very easy and well-managed. From the center of Yogyakarta City, the journey takes approximately 45 to 60 minutes via the straight and wide Jalan Parangtritis. Public transportation like Trans Jogja buses or inter-city buses are available, although private or rental vehicles are recommended for time flexibility.
