If you want to avoid crowds, visiting on weekdays is highly recommended. However, if you want to experience local wisdom, come during the rice harvest season, when the surrounding rice fields turn golden, offering a distinctive rural aroma.

Conservation and Environmental Protection

As a nature-based destination, the sustainability of Sawarna Beach is a top priority. The area faces challenges from plastic waste carried by the sea and the impact of mass tourism. The local community, along with the local government, has begun implementing protection zoning, especially in coral reef areas. Getting to Sawarna is an adventure in itself. Located about 230 km from Jakarta, the land journey takes about 6 to 7 hours. There are two main routes: the East Route via Bogor - Pelabuhan Ratu, or the West Route via Pandeglang - Malingping. The route via Pelabuhan Ratu offers winding hilly scenery with lush forest views.

Facilities in Sawarna have developed rapidly but still maintain a traditional feel. There are dozens of homestays owned by local residents, offering a warm stay experience. Traditional food stalls serve fresh seafood caught directly by local fishermen.
