However, for those who wish to experience a more melancholic atmosphere with thicker mist, visiting in early January also offers a unique sensation, although physical preparation and waterproof gear must be maximized. It is highly recommended to start outdoor activities as early as 05:00 AM to capture the best moments as the sun begins to pierce through the mountain gaps.

Conservation and Environmental Protection

Kobagma Valley is an ecologically sensitive area. Currently, conservation efforts are community-based. The indigenous communities in Central Mamberamo have customary laws that regulate the utilization of natural resources, including prohibitions on hunting certain animals and logging at river sources.

As a developing tourist destination, the main challenge is to prevent plastic waste from polluting the valley's ecosystem. Tourists are strongly urged to practice the "Leave No Trace" principle. Protection of the Kobagma river basin is crucial, as these rivers are the main source of clean water for residents downstream to the lowlands of Mamberamo.

After landing in Kobagma, local transportation typically involves two-wheeled vehicles or walking to explore the best viewpoints. Supporting facilities such as accommodation are still very limited and generally consist of simple guesthouses owned by the local government or staying with local residents (homestays).
