When the sea recedes, the land seems to extend hundreds of meters towards the sea, creating a vast sandy plain that reflects the sky like a giant mirror.

On the landward side, the coastal vegetation is dominated by rows of thriving sea pine trees and coconut trees. These trees serve as natural shade and a green barrier protecting the land from abrasion. To get the maximum experience, visitors are advised to come between May and September. During this period, the weather tends to be clear with low rainfall intensity, and the sea waves are relatively calm.

The most special moment occurs every month of Syawal, when the local community holds the Simah Laut ritual. This is a traditional ritual expressing gratitude to the Creator for the abundant bounty of the sea. Visitors can witness the procession of offering sacrifices to the sea, followed by hundreds of colorful fishing boats, providing a deep cultural experience amidst natural beauty.

Conservation and Environmental Protection

As a developing destination, the main challenges for Ujung Pandaran Beach are abrasion and waste management. The Kotawaringin Timur Regency government, along with the local community, has made various conservation efforts, such as replanting mangroves and building breakwaters at several critical points.

Environmental awareness is continuously being raised through the "Eco-Friendly Tourism" campaign. Visitors are strongly urged not to leave plastic waste on the beach and not to damage the existing sea pine vegetation. The protection of this coastal ecosystem is crucial, considering Ujung Pandaran is a natural barrier for the surrounding fishing settlements.

Ujung Pandaran Beach is located about 80 kilometers south of the center of Sampit City. The land journey takes approximately 1.5 to 2 hours via a reasonably good asphalt road, passing through lush plantations and scenic residential areas.

The facilities in this tourist area have seen significant improvements. There are various accommodation options, ranging from simple guesthouses, local homestays, to resorts offering direct sea views. Public facilities such as toilets, prayer rooms, eateries serving fresh seafood (like grilled fish and Teluk Sampit specialties), and ample parking are available to ensure tourist comfort.
